Kimba

Kimba

Tiger

Kimba was rescued from a circus in Guatemala after the country banned the use of animals in circuses. Following 15 months of complex international permitting, he arrived in the United States in 2019. The physical abuse Kimba endured during his years in the circus left lasting behavioral challenges that continue to require specialized care.

Through patient care and behavioral support, Kimba has overcome fear and anxiety, rebuilding trust in humans.

Blackfire

Blackfire

Tiger

Blackfire was rescued at just six months old during the largest rescue in TCWR’s history. He and his siblings suffered severe fractures from Metabolic Bone Disease caused by improper care. Their conditions were critical, requiring extensive veterinary treatment. Blackfire and his sisters, Rocklyn and Peyton, survived and will receive lifelong care.

Ongoing veterinary care, daily supplements, specialized nutrition, and medication—giving him a true second chance at life.

Tony

Tony

Bobcat

Tony and his brother, Prince, were taken from the wild as kittens and confined to separate pet carriers on a family’s porch. In May 2019, severe flooding forced their owners to evacuate, leaving the brothers behind as water rose to their chests. Rescuers reached them just in time, and they ultimately found lifelong refuge and care at Turpentine Creek.

Freedom of choice, living as wild as possible while receiving lifelong care because they cannot be released into the wild.
