Prince and Tony came from Lavaca, AR, where they were privately owned after being taken from the wilderness as bobcat kittens. The brothers spent their formative months in separate pet carriers on a family’s front porch with no freedom or quality of life. That all changed in May 2019, when record-breaking rainfall resulted in severe flooding near the Arkansas River. Their owners left for safe ground, abandoning the nine-month-old brothers. Rescuers arrived just in time, with flood waters already reaching the cats’ chests, and brought them to a woman known to take in animals in need. Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge (TCWR) was contacted to provide a permanent home for the pair.
Once they arrived at the Refuge, the bobcats received a brief exam before being released into their spacious grassy habitat. They immediately took refuge in their new home, which offered plenty of space to run and numerous hiding spots. The siblings are elusive but can be found in the open near feeding time. Like his brother, Prince likes scent enrichment. He favors spending time on his elevated platforms to nap or to watch his neighbors.
Your contribution helps provide them with nutritious meals, veterinary care, habitat maintenance, and enrichment activities.
