Carly attended college at Bridgewater State University and majored in Biology with a minor in Geography. She gained practical experience at Franklin Park Zoo in Boston, MA as an intern for 400 hours, then as an extern for a summer, and finally as a volunteer. From 2011-2016 Carly interned and then joined volunteer staff with the nonprofit NECWA (New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance) out of Middleboro, MA. During that time she was a Whale Watch Naturalist aboard a whale watching boat out of Plymouth, MA, educating the public and conducting photo-id research on Humpback Whales off the coast of New England. She arrived at TCWR in February of 2016 as an intern for 2 years, and then was hired on as animal care staff in January 2018.
