- In June of 2011, Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge was voted among the Top Ten Destinations in the State of Arkansas by online voters at the state’s tourist website.
- Turpentine Creek Vice President, Scott Smith, was named “Man of the Year, 2010” by the Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce.
- Turpentine Creek President, Tanya Smith, was named “Business Ambassador of the year, 2010” by the Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce.
- Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge was named “Eureka Springs Business of the Year, 2010” by the Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce.
- TCWR Curator Emily McCormack was nominated as Hospitality Hostess of the year by the Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce in 2009.
- The Refuge received the Bootstrap Award at the Henry Awards Ceremony on March 12, 2008, in Rogers, Arkansas during the Arkansas Governor’s Conference on Tourism.
- Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge was named “Eureka Springs Business of the Year, 2007” by the Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce.
- Our current promotional video, “Life at Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge,” containing footage of our animals and a description of our mission, has won two national video awards: the Aegis Award of Excellence and the Award of Distinction by the Videographer Award judges.
- The Refuge was a 2005 Finalist for the Bootstrap Award at the Henry Awards Ceremony during the Arkansas Governor’s Conference on Tourism.
- A 30-minute video segment about our facility, filmed during a photo session with several of our animals for Canon, Inc., aired on ESPN in October of 2000 and was selected for their “Year’s Best Video” segment.
