Glucosamine Supplement Needed

Bulk Order Glucosamine Supplements

January 11, 2016

We are facing a bit of a dilemma here at Turpentine Creek and you can help us. with it.

Thor-50803Our animal population is aging rapidly and since many of our animals were not given proper nutrition before arriving they are having some health issues. Many of the issues that we are seeing in our animals is with their bones and joints. To help reduce pain and make movement easier on our older animals we currently give them Glucosamine supplements.

To this point we have been purchasing Glucosamine pills to put in specific animals’ diets, but since so many of our cats are getting older and needing the pills we have begun looking at better and more affordable ways to purchase Glucosamine.

Luckily, our animal staff has found a company that will sell us a powder that we can add to all of our food and help all of our animals. This product will only cost less than what we are currently spending on buying pills.

To get this great discount we would need to purchase a full year supply of the supplement which will cost $2,500. For only $2,500 every single animal at our refuge would be given a daily dose of Glucosamine, helping the animals that currently need it and preventing problems in the animals who are not currently taking it.

Please help us purchase this necessary supplement, this will help our animals live a long, less painful, lives here at Turpentine Creek.

If you would like to help us provide Glucosamine to our animals please call us at (479)253-5841, send a check with a note about the Glucosamine to us through the mail at 239 Turpentine Creek Lane, Eureka Springs, AR. 72632, or donate online on our website.

Veterinary Hospital Equipment Needed

Big Equipment Deposits Needed

January 9, 2015

Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge is making quick progress on our Vet Hospital. The building is up and we have begun working on the interior. It is our goal to have the building completed by mid March. This means that we need to begin purchasing all the items that will be going into the building.

Custom Made Surgery Table $15,500. Custom made to accommodate our large, heavy animals.

We have raised nearly half of the $151,788 needed to fully equipped the hospital. But we still have a LONG way to go to reach our goals! We were recently informed that if we wanted to get our custom surgery table for the vet hospital we would need to put down a deposit as soon as possible. The table has to be custom made to lift the large animals that we care for. They will not begin building the table until we put down the deposit so the sooner we can raise the money for this item the sooner it will arrive.

Three of our biggest expenses that we still have to raise money for are the custom made surgery table  – $15,500 -, the Portable X-Ray Machine – $54,000-, and the Ultrasound – $7,000. These items are all important parts of our Vet Hospital and represent the majority of the remaining money we need to raise to completely equipped the hospital.

We are looking for people who might be able to group together and help us raise the remaining money for these big items that are vital to helping our animals.

If you would like to donate money to help us purchase these necessary items you can donate online on Paypal, mail a check with a note in the Memo area that the money is for the Veterinary Hospital, or call and donate over the phone. Remember all donations are tax deductible!

New Year Letter

A Letter from our President, Tanya Smith

January 1, 2016
Dear Friends,
As the year comes to a closeDimesDonationHeather and we reflect on the many memories we’ve made and experiences we’ve shared, we would be remiss if we did not also dream of how we can improve ourselves and the world around us in 2016. For most of you, the New Year’s resolution will be focused on efforts of self-improvement, but have you thought of how you might improve the world around you? Giving to our cause and supporting our mission is a great place to start!
It is well known that giving activates areas in the brain responsible for feelings of pleasure and happiness. Many studies also suggest that giving promotes good health, social connectivity and trust within a family or community. So, while you reflect on 2015, take advantage of tax incentives – and the good vibes of giving – and donate to our organization before December 31. And while you’re forming the perfect 2016 New Year’s resolution, why not include giving as well?
There are a lot of different ways you can support our organization throughout the New Year. Visiting our facility, offering in-kind and monetary donations, volunteering your time, and spreading awareness of our mission are just a few. And sometimes supporting a cause takes less effort than we even realize!
For example, I recently became aware of a fun and easy idea for saving $700 per year. I know this tip as ‘Disney on a Dime’, but the idea suggests that you gradually fill an empty 2-liter bottle with dimes and over time – when the bottle is full – you will have amassed approximately $700. How simple is that?! Creative ideas like this can be applied to giving as well, and are easy ways for you, your family, your organization or your community to help support non-profits like Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge.
Like many of you, we will focus on self-improvement this year. But also like many of you, we will need help in order to meet our goals. With your support, we have saved many lives throughout the years and we intend to save many more well into the future.
So, can we count on you to help us, help them?
