Zulu Safari Guest Lodge

NOW OPEN! The Zulu Safari Guest Lodge is now taking reservations to complete your adventure at Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge. Overlooking the sprawling Ozark Mountains, with beautiful sunrises and magnificent sunsets and the caroling of the Big Cats, all five cabins are ready for occupancy. Each room has an exceptional personality, along with snuggly spa robes, luxurious bedding and linens, coffees and coffee pots, continental breakfast, color TV/DVD player, refrigerators, microwaves, and clock radios. For rainy days or after hours, the rooms also have their own collection of favorite games and books. Cast iron fireplaces and air conditioning keeps you comfortable during the changing seasons, too. Each room is also furnished with African Drums for those who care to start a drumming! Along with the spacious hot tub, the units share a 40' Octagonal Deck, complete with a charming covered Gazebo and Fire Pit. Tables and chairs surround the area for comfortable relaxing or light dining. (Must be age 18 and up to stay in the Zulu Safari Guest Lodge.)

Kalahari

KALAHARI, is a cozy escape with an exotic theme of bamboo and jewel tones throughout the cabin. The artistic bamboo headboard above the queen-sized bed is complimented by original abstract art from Lisa Wilson and D. Arthur Wilson's Wild Expressionism limited editions compliment the walls at every turn. Scott Smith's up close and personal experiences are captured perfectly in his photographs of several animals as well. The spacious bathroom with shower has an unusual cast iron hand pump for added ingenuity. Relaxing on either of the two decks, the gently caroling of the big cats is music to your ears!

Kilimanjaro

KILIMANJARO, is a luscious, exotic palate of color throughout the unit, boasting a queen-sized bed. Upon entering, the soft light in the foyer invites you into a room that feels as if Hemingway himself would've stayed here. Delicately carved African masks adorn the cabin throughout, as well as the art of Lisa and D. Arthur Wilson. The double-headed cedar shower is a spacious retreat in the bathroom, complete with glass sink and more masked images, and the duet of D. Arthur Wilson's Zebras keeps you company at the most opportune place! The corner fireplace will keep you cozy on chilly days and the large rustic entertainment unit is home to familiar games and books as well as Scott Smith's charming photos of some of the residents at the refuge!

Congo

CONGO, is a playful burst of color of the tropical region of Africa. With playful eyes, D. Arthur Wilson's jaguar pair over look the queen-sized bed, while an amazing black leopard stands watches over the fireplace. Bright greens and oranges are balanced with the subtle brown sofa bed to accommodate up to two more people as well, with overstuffed orange pillows for a catnap. Artistic license is so apparent in the spacious corner bathroom with the cedar lined rain shower. Either deck is charming, but the back deck of this cabin boasts the view of either the tigers or the sprawling valley, complete with bald eagles flying overhead, at least some of the time!

Okavango

Okavango, is artistically styled with a beautiful blue hue and aluminum colored cabin to give you a feeling of relaxing and rejuvenation. This cabin is handicapped friendly. Lisa Wilson's "View from the Bridge" giclee hang over the queen-sized bed, while D. Arthur Wilson's "No Meer Family" giclee print, Meer cats peer over the sofa. A rich brown sofa bed can accommodate up to two more people as well, with overstuffed pillows for a catnap. Abundant wildlife art fills this spacious bathroom. Both decks are charming, but the back deck of this cabin boasts the view of sprawling valley and a beautiful sunset.

Serengeti

Serengeti, is designed in a purple and red combination that gives you a warm and wonderful feeling that delights all of your senses. This cozy cabin delivers the color of our breath taking Ozark sunsets. This units art gives you the feeling you are in Africa. D. Arthur and Lisa Wilson's paintings make each unit unique. The presentation of Lisa's Mixed Media original art, Passion 2 and Passion 4 hang over the queen-sized bed. Serengeti has many giclee prints like "Sunday Afternoon" a lion pride over the TV along with a beautiful male lion print over the spotted love seat. Wildebeest, zebras and giraffes fill this room along with fantastic photographs taken by Scott Smith TCWR resident photographer. The private deck of this cabin boasts the view of the sprawling valley and a beautiful sunrise.
